About Threading
Threading is an ancient eyebrow shaping and hair removal technique. It's originated in Persia but is continued in India and other countries and it is now gaining popularity in Western countries. Threading has fast become the celebrities’ preferred method for shaping perfect eyebrows it can be used to eliminate a uni-brow, raise the arch of the eyebrow, or add shape and definition to the brow.
How threading is performed?
Practitioners use a pure, thin, twisted cotton thread which is rolled over the brow in a twisting motion plucking the hair at the follicle level. The thread pulls out several hairs at a time, resulting in a straighter more even shaped line. It is kinder to the skin, even those with very sensitive skin which often cannot be waxed like small areas on the body and other facial hair such as the top lip. The hair is caught in the travelling thread and is pulled out deeper therefore being deeper will last longer. You also get the perfect eyebrow shape which is not what you would really call painful but obviously there is a temporary twinge.
Usually it takes only between 5 and 15 minutes to complete.
How threading is different to waxing and plucking?
Although it may seem quite simple, threading does take a certain amount of skill to ensure hairs are not snapped off. It takes time and concentration to be able to complete this procedure successfully but the results are amazing! The main benefit of threading is the way it shapes the eyebrow, not just underneath but also the top. One of the major drawbacks of tweezing, especially when done at home, is that it’s easy to remove the wrong hairs which then alter the shape of the eyebrow. Threading wont! The hairs will just grow back as normal.
How often would you require threading?
It is dependent on your hair re-growth. Generally, our clients visit us every 3-4 weeks and of course no side effects
